For Less than $10

Awol likes to hide his face. The program coordinator told me he had been attacked by a hyena. The scars are visible on his face. But, if you look closely, you can see Awol has a terrible eye infection and on his hands, a spreading skin infection.

Immediately I pulled out the money for transport for Awol to go the hospital one hour away and to receive the necessary medications.

And how much did it cost? 400 Birr. Less than $8.

What does it take to make sure Awol, a 15 year old boy, does not lose his sight? It takes the generosity YOU! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

According to the US National Institute of Health, Ethiopia is believed to have one of the world's highest rates of blindness and low vision, of which more than 80% is either treatable or preventable.
